Life of a sec-4-er is crazily muggerish. Tests are squished between periods almost every day of the week. well, it's more of a nightmare gone horribly wrong, or an army camp that became something like hitler's.

LIFE = SCHOOL + TESTS + HW + CCA + PIANO

this ain't a joking matter. i mean, try squeezing all these into a short finite 24 hrs when 3/4 of your day is already spent in school. i'm feeling drained as it is.

Jubilate VI was officially over yesterday. Come to think of it, it's truly my last performance with band, with the section as it is at present. and that's kind of sad. but it's ok. i'll cope with it. i'll go see them after o's or something.

well for the moment, there's POP to look forward to! and i hope it's gonna be an awesome one :D heh. the juniors have asked me to bring my geog bk. let me guess : map reading??? or something related to....singapore's history?? AH! SENTOSA?!?!?

ooh. i'm such a genius if my guess is really correct :D

oh wells. ( just no scary rides ppl, as in those rollar coasters and stuff. my parents do not approve of it yup)

this will probably be the last few times i'm every posting till o's are over. and the last week i'm ever going on msn.

so bid farewell to the rest of the world baby. this blog is officially on hiatus.

i'll trade for nothing but you.

happy mother's day, mommy! (though i jolly well know that you wouldn't see this anyway)

thanks for being there for me all the way, listening to my
endless rants, putting up with my foul mood without so much of a complain. I know that you must have been pretty frustrated at times, but hey, hang on, for you know i'm always here to shower you with loads of love and hugs and kisses! :D

you're the light of my world, the joy in my heart, the peace in my soul. you're a lifesaver. an inspiration.

and i thank you all for that.

XOXO i love you more than i can say,

most famously sung by ADAM LAMBERT. heh.

'the dreams that are dying are the best i've ever had'.

/ news has never been so interesting to me. i'm amazed at how eager i am to be home, just to watch the news. and i have to say, i am really proud of Singapore. Imagine people, Singapore developed the SWINE FLU TEST KIT which could determine whether you have swine flu in a matter of 20 mins. how cool is that? SUPER. this is really amazing. we're the first country, so talented, so....full of brains haha.

right now, i'm just really worried about my family. I really hope the flu dies down soon. (though i dun think it will). well, i hope singapore comes up with a cure like Tamiflu, but the implication is that the swine flu mutates between human transmission, which makes it all the more daunting and well, unpredictable. urgh.

nevermind. i shall take things in my stride. for now, let's just enjoy life.

GO SINGAPORE <3

Swine flu
Monday, April 27, 2009

tell me about it.

With 100 over people infected with the deadly stain of virus and 80 over casualties, here's what we have : a pandemic in our hands.

interesting huh? how viruses can mutate so quickly and cause what seems like yet another SARS outbreak. It's no wonder Singapore's getting worried and having stringent checks and everything. seriously, they should just ban air travel (although i am fully aware that this will never be feasible). well, if the flu spreads from ppl to ppl easily via a cough/sneeze, banning air travel for now would serve as a temporary measure to keep the virus from spreading globally right? that's what you do with problems : nib it in the butt.

funny this is, those ppl who were down with the flu were NOT in contact with pigs, which makes it all the more daunting. and the fact that WHO is stepping in to annouce all countries to be prepared for a pandemic further shows the extent of severity of the problem.

heh. i think humans are damn pro. first we upgrade our technology, which in turn harms the environment and causes global warming and all other climate problems. then there's earthquakes and tsunamis and whatnot.

now when humans are further upgrading ourselves with genetically modified food and godknows what inhumane things we do to animals, we ourselves are shot back with fatal illnesses which are actually.....just our undoing.

ironic, this is.

intelligence? by harming ourselves at the end of the day?

heeho. i'll reckon not.

ST NICKS OWNNNN

BIG TIME!

I HEREBY PROCLAIM THAT I'M A PROUD MEMBER OF ST NICKS BLUE BADGE(AN)S! SERIOUSLY, ST NICKS IS ON A WINNING STREAK. WELL, GUESS WHAT? DANCE, BAND, CO AND CHOIR HAS ALL SO FAR ATTAINED GWH!!!

WHAT'S MORE, SEC 4S HAD TRACK MEET TODAY. IT WAS UBER INSPIRING TO SEE TRACKERS RUN. IT MAKES ME FEEL A LITTLE JEALOUS TOO :/ HOW I WISH I CAN RUN JUST AS FAST AS THEM HAHA. BUT I KNOW THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE :D

THE WHOLE MEET WAS FILLED WITH ANTICIPATION MANN. ALTHOUGH THERE WERE SOME UNFORTUNATE INSTANCES, I'M PROUD THAT THE TRACKERS GRITTED THEIR TEETH AND PULLED THROUGH THE END.

THIS IS JUST LIKE A REFLECTION OF LIFE YOU KNOW? WHEN YOU FALL DOWN, PICK YOURSELF UP AND CARRY ON. WHO KNOWS? YOU MIGHT EVEN WIN!

AND THAT WAS WHAT HAPPENED AT THE END. WHEN THE OVERALL RESULTS WERE ANNOUNCED, ST NICKS C DIV GOT 1ST WHILE B DIV WAS 2ND! IN THE WHOLE NATION!

WELL DONE ST NICKS!!!!

OMG. I'M SO HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

st nicks, all the way! <3

That's the beauty of it, no?

there's this thing about animals.

watching lion king makes me have this special tingling feeling about animals. you see, even lions potrayed there are very cute and adorable. and the theme songs, they're just really inspiring.
and the plot....well it makes me feel really indignant whenever i watch any one of the animals suffering.

that's the reality of it, no? although we humans are considered a 'more sophisticated' breed, well, face it : we. are. animals. it's the same. the instinct to mate, the instinct to survive...that runs in our blood doesn't it?

just because we have a higher intelligence doesn't mean we're mightier than the rest.
just because we have the capability of doing anything doesn't give us the right to treat other animals harshly.

in fact, if you could just observe animals for a second, you would find that there are many meaningful lessons you can learn from them. the way they defend each other in their family unit, the way they protect and help each other along...that's really not far from us, isn't it?

speaking of animals, i'm reminded of the whales in whale rider, and how i nearly cried when i read about the part where the whales were jeered at and being slaughtered heartlessly and treated in inhumane ways.

that's the thing see?

bks are a reflection of our daily lives, and is further evidence of the fact that history repeats itself.

think of war.

through the age of time, when has war ever stopped? it's been ongoing ever since human's domination of the world, and it will probably continue to do so in the future.

we call ourselves intelligent for that?

i guess we're just all really deluded and mistaken about ourselves.

our god is an awesome god
he raised from heaven above
he brings some power
oh our god is an awesome god
WE DID IT!!!!!!! WE BLOODY DID IT!
BAND GOT.
GOLD WITH HONOURS! <3
although morning was scary ( in terms of flute section being SOOOO out of tune,), when we went to the tuning room, everyone was bloody so in tune that the sound was freaking a straight line. OMGOMGOMG.
somehow, i could feel a powerful presence helping us and blessing us in whatever we were doing at that point of time..... what could be better?? overture was awesome, especially the ending, where there was actually a rebound!! omgomg. and for jericho, everyone was just so focused on sia that we sounded incredibly gd! (heard our playing, heh someone recorded it :P)
omg. up till now (it's been hours mind you) i still can't believe that we actually got gold with honours :0 i mean. getting gold was already something with which we had doubts with. but gold with honours????
a total dream come true :D
all the effort spent in tuning and practising the L and D parts of jericho paid off! the battle sounded so neat and cool mannnn <3
SNSB is the ultimate!
